Image Courtesy Mark Peterson/Food Network MagazineTrisha Yearwood has been one very busy woman lately. As she gears up to hit the road with hubby Garth Brooks on September 4, Trisha is also completing work on her new album, PrizeFighter. The project will be her first for RCA Nashville, which is also Garth’s new label home. Trisha performed two songs from the album, “Your Husband’s Cheating on Us” and “I Remember You,” at an industry event to celebrate the new music Tuesday in Nashville.

Describing the title track to PrizeFighter, Trisha says, “It’s a song on the album that is about beating the odds and winning and fighting no matter what. I think it’s a message we all need to hear.”

Trisha didn’t announce a release date for PrizeFighter at Tuesday’s event. The announcement of new music comes more than two decades after Trisha first hit the country scene with “She’s in Love with the Boy.” Back when she signed her first record deal at age 26, Trisha compared her singing career to that of a pro baseball player.

“I thought, you know, these guys come out and they have their time and they have a few good years, and they have to know when they can’t swing the bat anymore,” Trisha says. “It’s been 23 years since that first single, and I’m just not ready to stop swinging the bat.”

In addition to the new music, Trisha is also kicking off the fifth season of her Emmy-winning Food Network show Trisha’s Southern Kitchen this Saturday. She’ll release a third cookbook, titled Trisha’s Table, in April 2015, and Trisha’s own line of Precious Metals cookware and a cutlery line will launch in the coming months, too.
