Image Courtesy McClister/MCA NashvilleSam Hunt has scored his first ACM nomination in the New Artist of the Year category even though his #1-selling debut album, Montevallo, just came out last October. Since then, Sam has posted two #1 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with “Leave the Night On” and “Take Your Time.”

Even with all that success, Sam says, “I still really feel like too new to be New Artist of the Year, but so many good things have happened over the last several months that have allowed us to reach so many people. It’s phenomenal.”

Sam will be taking part in the 50th Annual ACM Awards Sunday, April 19 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. He’s also performing the ACM Party for a Cause festival the Saturday before the ACM’s are handed out. As always, Sam’s band mates will be on stage with him in Texas, and he looks forward to sharing this experience with the guys he calls “my best friends in the world.”

“We’re all doing this for the first time, so all these things that we’re experiencing are firsts for all of us,” Sam explains, “and that really is what makes it special for me.”

Sam is nominated in the ACM New Artist of the Year category along with Thomas Rhett and Cole Swindell. Fan voting in that category is now open at VoteACM.com. The winner will be announced live on the ACM Awards April 19 on CBS.
