Tom Munro/RCA RecordsIt looks like Justin Timberlake may be bringing sexy back to the CMA Awards. Though we don’t know exactly what the pop superstar from Memphis will be performing, we do know he’ll take the stage in Nashville this week with three-time nominee Chris Stapleton. The announcement came Monday morning on GMA, where Chris will also be a guest on Wednesday.

Justin’s apparently been a fan of the former lead singer of bluegrass band The SteelDrivers for some time, tweeting “REAL music fans already know. So, mainstream: @ChrisStapleton Remember that name…” back in December.  The critical favorite was something of a surprise nominee this year, now competing for Male Vocalist, New Artist and Album of the Year for Traveller, even though he hasn’t had a major radio hit.

Chris and Justin join a stellar list of collaborations already set for the 49th Annual CMA Awards this Wednesday. Hank Williams Jr. kicks off the show with Eric Church, before Keith Urban plays with John Mellencamp. Thomas Rhett also takes the stage with Fall Out Boy. The show airs live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
