ABC/Image Group LAThe Academy of Country Music will give Miranda Lambert its first-ever Merle Haggard Spirit Award Tuesday evening during the ACM Honors at Nashville’s historic Ryman auditorium.

The new award singles out “uncompromising artists” in the tradition of the Hag, who passed away earlier this year. The “Poet of the Common Man” was named Most Promising Male Vocalist during the Academy’s first awards show in 1965, and would go on to win close to two dozen trophies over the course of his career.

Miranda is set to perform on The 10th Annual ACM Honors, along with Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Cam, Toby Keith, Alicia Keys, Maren Morris, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell, Keith Urban, Chris Young, Dan+Shay, and The Band Perry. Lady Antebellum will both sing and host the show, which airs Friday, September 9 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
