Former Manhattan Mayor Wynn Butler agreed to a diversion agreement with the City of Manhattan earlier this week in Manhattan Municipal Court following his arrest for DUI in May.
Butler agreed to the diversion agreement before Municipal Court Judge James Kepple on Tuesday morning along with his attorney Joshua Douglass.
In the agreement acquired through an open records request, Butler agreed to complete 40 hours of community service, attend a drug and alcohol evaluation, and pay $1348 to the city.
Butler was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol back on May 8 after he drove his car through the Candlewood Liquor Shop. He resigned the following day from the City Commission and the Riley County Law Board following the arrest.
