
A Manhattan man was hospitalized Tuesday after being struck by a car.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says it happened just after 10:30 p.m. at K-18/Fort Riley Blvd and South 5th Street. Officials say a Toyota Avalon driven by 61-year-old Penny Peterson, of Junction City was eastbound when her vehicle struck 30-year-old Manuel Fischer, who entered the roadway from the north.
Fischer was transported to Stormont Vail in Topeka with a suspected serious injury.
Peterson was not injured.
