On Wednesday, USD 383 school board members unanimously approved schedule changes that will mean earlier start times for elementary and high school, though board members said they may tweak the exact times.
Currently, the school days run from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for the elementary schools and 7:40 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. for the middle schools and the high school. Early learning runs from 8:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
The approved start and end times for the 2026-27 school year are 8:40 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. for the elementary schools, 8 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. for the middle schools and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the high school. Early learning would be at the same time as middle school.
