A band of snow is expected to move from west to east across the area this evening, with some locations seeing a brief mix of rain before the changeover. Forecasters say most places will receive only a light coating, mainly on grassy surfaces.
However, some locally heavier totals of around 1 inch are possible within the core of the band. That could be enough to create a few slick or slushy spots on roadways, particularly on bridges, overpasses and less-traveled routes.
Residents planning to travel tonight are encouraged to stay aware of changing weather and road conditions along their route.
