Police are investigating a vehicle theft reported Sunday morning in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department.

Officers filed a report at approximately 11 a.m. May 24 in the 4400 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard for theft of property or services and criminal damage to property.

A 29-year-old woman was listed as the victim after it was reported an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and tampered with the ignition in an attempt to steal a 2019 Kia Sportage.

The total estimated loss associated with the case is $14,900. Police said the vehicle was later recovered and returned to the victim.
