County officials have determined that a tornado siren failure last week in Riley was caused by a blown fuse.

Meteorologists reported a tornado on the ground June 4 near the city of Riley, and residents said the siren didn’t sound.

Riley County Emergency Dispatch and Emergency Management personnel worked with the siren maintenance company to identify the issue and determined Wednesday that the problem was a blown fuse. Officials said they expect to complete the repairs this week.
