We’ve come to the end of budget season for local entities, and each year we do a roundup of their property tax changes to give readers a picture of how their tax bill will look next year.

Taxes from the Manhattan city government, Riley County government and Manhattan-Ogden school district are going up for the average homeowner. Residents of all three will see a tax increase of about 5.5%, given the change in the mill levy and the average increase of existing, single-family homes.

A mill represents $1 in taxes for every $1,000 in assessed, taxable property value.
