Work to install new playground equipment, safety surfacing and a picnic shelter at Douglass Park begins Wednesday.
The project area will close during construction, which officials expect will continue through the end of 2026.
The improvements will include new playground features such as slides and swings, along with new safety surfacing in the playground area. The current playground equipment was installed 32 years ago. The nearby picnic shelter also will be replaced as part of the project.
