POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY — The hotly contested race for the Pottawatomie County Commission District 5 seat is, at least for the moment, leaning in favor of incumbent Terry Force.
The unofficial final results from the county election office show Force ahead of his challenger Matt Ubel by 35 votes, 1,107-1,072.
However, Force said Tuesday night that the election was too close to call.
“There are quite a few provisional ballots, so the election is not over yet,” he said. “Thirty-five is too close, way closer than what I was hoping for, and I won’t be comfortable until the provisional ballots are counted.”
He said expected that to be done some time on Wednesday. “Another sleepless night.”
