AtlanticIf you have trouble remembering who’s who in High Valley, brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel say there’s an easy way to tell the Canadian duo apart:  Curtis is the “fun” one.

When it comes to being the responsible leader, though, it’s Brad who’s out front.

“Business-y things, High Valley things,” Brad says, explaining his strong points.

“Yeah, definitely,” Curtis agrees.

But, Brad points out, “If it’s doing something fun, then he’s the leader and I’m the follower.”

“I’m fine with that title,” Curtis smiles.

Just this weekend, Curtis lived up to his reputation, tweeting that he was available to finish off any leftover desserts at Canada’s JUNO Awards, where the two were nominated for Country Album of the Year for their current record, Dear Life.

But don’t think that Brad’s a drag or anything.

“It’s weird, because when I’m with my friends that I hang out with outside of High Valley… I have a lot of fun and people even think I’m, like, a fun person,” Brad says.

“I’m very one dimensional,” Brad continues. “When we’re working, it’s very hard for me to be, like, ‘Hey, let’s have a little bit of fun…and THIS.’ I’m not good at that.”

Brad expects the two brothers’ personalities probably have something to do with their birth order.

“Curtis is the baby of the family,” he tells ABC Radio, “and we’ve got three older sisters, but I’m the oldest of the boys. It’s like mom and dad had three girls first, and then they had a whole separate family of three boys.”

“I don’t know how exactly they did that, but they did,” Curtis quips.

High Valley is currently enjoying their first U.S. top ten hit with “She’s with Me.” Their new Farmhouse Sessions album came out on Friday.
