An Alma man died in a Johnson County accident this past long holiday weekend. Nicholas Herren, 21, was driving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma eastbound on K-10 about a half mile west of Cedar Creek Parkway when he lost control and entered the median sideways. The Toyota rolled and landed on its wheels in the north ditch of the westbound lanes.
Herren died in the accident, reported shortly after four p.m. Sunday. A 22-year-old passenger in the vehicle, Ryan McMahon of California was taken to the Overland Park Regional Hospital. Both had seat belts on.
