1st Infantry Division Identifies Soldier found dead in Manhattan

FORT RILEY, Kan. – A 1st Infantry Division Soldier who died in Manhattan has been identified. Capt. Yohan Lee, a chaplain assigned to the 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Inf. Div., died suddenly April 9. He was 45. Crews battle out of control burn for nearly 12 hours

An out of control prescribed burn saw fire crews from Randolph, Riley County, and Leonardville responding to the area of Barton Road on Wednesday. Manhattan couple dies following Topeka accident

A Manhattan couple injured in an early April car accident, have died. Ronald Montgomery, 81, died from his injuries Monday – his wife Marlene Montgomery, 78, passed away on April 7. New leader taking the reigns at Via Christi Hospital

Via Christi Hospital has named a new leader. According to a press release from the hospital, experienced administrative leader in Catholic healthcare, Bob Copple will become senior administrator for the Manhattan hospital. Copple has held the position of president and chief executive officer of CHI’s Memorial Community Hospital & Health System in Blair, Nebraska since 2013.

Emergency crews investigate suspicious liquid at UPS location in MHK

Emergency crews in Riley County are currently investigating a suspicious package found at a UPS building on 1133 Hayes Drive. Crews were dispatched just after 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, after a bottle containing a suspicious liquid, was found in a package mailed from Nigeria.
