ABC/Image Group LA2015 was the year of Sam Hunt in many ways, according to Billboard Country Update. His debut Montevallo is the year’s Top Country Album, while his hit “Take Your Time” comes in at number one on both the year-end Hot Country Songs and Country Streaming Songs charts.
Sam barely misses out on the Top Country Artist title according to the magazine, coming in just behind CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan. When it comes to radio airplay, Billboard tracks Lee Brice’s “Drinking Class” as the most-heard song of 2015. Hunt’s highest entry on the Airplay chart is “Take Your Time,” finishing at number 29 for the year.
This was also the year Sam took home the all-genre New Artist trophy at the American Music Awards. Next year, he competes for the equivalent honor at the Grammys.
