Warner Music NashvilleIf you’ve heard Blake Shelton’s new song, “I’ll Name the Dogs,” it’ll come as no surprise that the Oklahoma native is devoted to keeping it country.

“You know, I think the thing that inspires me musically…is trying to find a way to remain as traditional as I can in country music, but still push it forward a little bit more,” he reveals.

But the Oklahoma native is the first to admit it’s not always easy.

“It’s always a fine line to walk,” Blake says. “You’re always gonna want to have a new sound and do something fresh and different, but without abandoning what it is you do and your fan base. It’s almost an impossible task, but it’s the thing that inspires me. It’s the thing that I’m constantly looking for.”

For his new album, Blake literally got back to his roots, recording Texoma Shore along the Sooner State’s Lake Texoma. It arrives in stores and online November 3.
