ABC/Image Group LAIn 2016, Blake Shelton will be front and center in a major motion picture.  The only problem is, he’ll likely be unrecognizable to you. The “Gonna” hitmaker voices the part of Earl, a cowboy-hat wearing, guitar-toting, chaps-wearing buck-toothed green pig in The Angry Birds Movie.

“They kept saying, ‘More country!’ I felt like I was doing a voice-over for Dukes of Hazzard,” he tells Entertainment Weekly.

The star of The Voice also provides some of the tunes as the angry birds square off against their pork-bellied enemies, but he admits finding inspiration was a little tough. “I can write things about myself and my life, but I don’t have a whole lot of experience being shot out of a slingshot at pigs,” he jokes.

Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and Maya Rudolph also lend their voices to the big-screen adaptation of the popular mobile game phenomenon. “I wish I had a dollar for every minute I lost playing that freaking game, you know?” Blake protests. “Well, I guess I do now,” he adds.

You can check out Blake’s work in The Angry Birds Movie when it opens May 20.
