Brad Paisley sings two songs on the soundtrack to the new Disney film Planes: Fire & Rescue, including one he wrote from personal experience, “All In.” The movie is all about firefighting, and Brad tells ABC News Radio he has a lot of family members in that line of work.
“My dad was, or is, a firefighter,” Brad says. “He’s retired. Doesn’t really do it now. My brother-in-law is also a full-time firefighter. Used to be an L.A. firefighter. It was a chance to pay tribute to them in a movie.”
He adds, “My favorite line in the song is, ‘Where there’s smoke and flames, and everybody needs out, I’m all in.'”
Brad also sings a song called “Runway Romance” on the soundtrack, due out July 15. Listen for him to make a voice cameo in Planes: Fire & Rescue, hitting theaters in 3D on July 18.
As for the film itself, Brad says, “It’s really inspiring, actually. It’s a really interesting take on firefighting, ’cause really the whole movie’s about these vehicles that fight fires.”
Brad previously contributed two songs to the 2006 Disney film Cars.
