Image Courtesy CMABrantley Gilbert‘s latest album, Just as I Am, was recently certified gold thanks in large part to his hit collaboration with Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett on “Small Town Throwdown.” The trio performed the song on ABC’s CMA Music Festival special Tuesday night, and it was obvious the guys are genuinely friends in real life.

Brantley says, “Man, I love those guys to death. It’s no joke. You see a lot of collaborations, [but] these two guys are good buddies of mine.”

Justin and Thomas both quickly agreed to cut the song when Brantley approached them. Their natural friendship is on full display in the brand-new “Small Town Throwdown” video. The guys shoot guns, take on a former wrestler and show off some funky dance moves in the clip.

“Me and Justin and T.R. cut up pretty good,” Brantley says. “We have a good time.”

Since Brantley, Thomas and Justin are all on the same record label, there weren’t any legal issues with their contracts preventing them from cutting the song.

Says Brantley, “It was an easy idea, and a whole lot of fun carrying it out.”

Brantley will perform “Small Town Throwdown” when he joins Luke Bryan‘s concert bill at Lincoln Financial Field Friday, August 15. Lee Brice and Cole Swindell also are on that stadium show.
