ABC/Fred LeeThough he’s a man of few words in the new promos with host Adam Driver and cast member Aidy Bryant, Chris Stapleton has been busy this week getting ready for his gig as Saturday Night Live’s first musical guest of 2016. In addition to shooting the spots with the Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor, country’s breakout artist of 2015 also retweeted photos of his soundcheck on Thursday, next to wife Morgane.
SNL’s musical guests typically do two songs, though it hasn’t been announced what Stapleton’s selections will be. We do know his latest single “Nobody to Blame” is on the verge of breaking into country’s top 20, which would be a career first, and his song “Traveller” is up for a Grammy.
