The Academy of Country Music certainly went all out for the debut of the annual awards show on Amazon Prime Monday night.
There were some hiccups (random audio issues, weird camera shot choices) and a couple of thuds (Miranda Lambert FINALLY getting her moment, only to be in Europe. Granted, that’s not anyone’s fault, but it was a bit of a letdown for us watching. I can only imagine it was the same for her, as well.) HOWEVER, let’s be honest. No one was there for the awards. These shows are a concert with trophies sprinkled in between while the next act gets set up.
And in that, did they deliver. From Jimmy Allen and Gabby Barrett tipping the hat to Las Vegas to kick things off, to the final performance from Duo of the Year winners Brothers Osborne and Brittney Spencer, almost every artist knocked it out of the park.
