Chris Stapleton continues to capitalize on his success at the CMA Awards.
His CMA-winning album, Traveller, is number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the second week in a row. It sold 97 thousand copies and 124 thousand equivalent album units — which takes into account digital sales and streams — for the week ending Thursday.
The previous week, Traveller became the first debut album by a country artist in four years to go to number one on the all-genre chart.
Stapleton won three awards and performed with Justin Timberlake at the CMAs earlier this month.
This week, Eric Church’s surprise CMA Awards release, Mr. Misunderstood, also climbs from number three to number two in its second week. Tim McGraw’s new project, Damn Country Music, debuts at number five.
