The City of Manhattan is now accepting applications for a Street Maintenance Steering Committee.
Manhattan residents from a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The committee will be comprised of neighborhood representatives and local stakeholders. It will be tasked with formulating the wording of a ballot question that addresses future funding ofstreet maintenance activities in Manhattan. Committee members will also drive the direction of the uses of the funding, timing of the question, amount of funding to be requested, and the duration of the program.
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Nov. 20, and the Manhattan City Commission will appoint the committee in December. Thecommittee will give its recommendations to the City Commission no later than March 2016.
