CMAThe final night of CMA Fest 2018 closed with a who’s-who of superstars from the worlds of both country and pop.
Dierks Bentley found out the lead single from his new The Mountain album, “Woman, Amen,” is #1 shortly before taking the stage.
“I just saw that…” Dierks told ABC Radio. “It just always feels good… no matter what’s going on. But certainly to have an album that just came out and have a song go #1 and be in Nashville with a bunch of friends that came out to the show, and of course, the best friends I have — these fans who made this life possible. So it’s just a special night…”
Both Bebe Rexha and Backstreet Boys joined Florida Georgia Line to do their hits “Meant to Be” and “God, Your Mama and Me.”
“There really is a brotherhood,” Tyler Hubbard said of FGL’s relationship with BSB. “We’ve gotten to hang out, we’ve gotten to party a little bit together… We’ve gotten to sit around and wait soundcheckin’, and get to talk and really get to know each other, talking about life and talking about the good, the bad, and the everything…”
“And they’re just great people…” he adds. “Their energy is infectious. It’s inspiring to see them just keep crushing it.”
This year, Luke Bryan performed last, occupying the spot as country music’s ultimate headliner.
“I remember the days that I truly, truly dreamed of being in this position to where I would be on that stage,” he reflected. “And so to be the final performer of what I’m sure was a magical week for the fans — it’s been an amazing week for me — it’s pretty awesome. So I’ll hopefully send ’em home with some memories, send ’em home with a fun night and a great show.”
