ABC/Image Group LAAhead of the release of Dierks Bentley‘s ninth studio album, The Mountain, the singer is previewing some of the album’s tracks in a new four-part video series via Apple Music.  The videos share fans’ stories of resilience, perseverance and hope while Dierks performs the music from his forthcoming project in Colorado.

“The people I meet on the road who are climbing their own personal mountains unknowingly inspired this album,” Dierks says in a statement. “Their stories are powerful and raw, but there is always a sense of resilience and hope. Those feelings are the foundation of this album to me.”

Billboard premiered the first episode, which follows Daniel Foley, who was running in the 2013 Boston Marathon when a bomb exploded near the finish line. His two young children and wife were waiting for him nearby, and in the clip he reflects on the horrific things they saw and the decision to not live in fear.

“My wife and I decided that we were going to focus on all the good and that we can come back from a terrorist attack and we can run the next year and not be afraid,” Daniel says in the video.

Apple Music will reveal a new episode of the video series every two weeks. Dierks’ The Mountain will be released on June 8.
