At a press conference in Nashville, TN Monday, Dolly Parton announced she’ll be kicking off her first major North American tour in over 25 years. The tour will cover more than 60 cities in both the U.S and Canada.
Dolly also announced she’ll be releasing a double album titled Pure & Simple with Dolly’s Biggest Hits. The collection will include new material, as well as the country legend’s best-known tracks. During the tour, Dolly will play songs she hasn’t performed live for decades, as well as some of the new material and, of course, the hits that fans have loved for years.
Details of the tour routing and an album track listing will be released soon. “We’re so excited to get out there and see the fans again,” said Dolly in a statement.
Dolly’s most recent triumph was the ratings success of her autobiographical TV movie Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors, which was the most-watched original movie on network TV in over three years. It’ll be released on DVD May 3.
