ABC/Lou RoccoDolly Parton’s been busy making a slew of media appearances to promote her new soundtrack for the film Dumplin’, but at the same time, she’s been mourning the passing of her younger brother, Floyd Parton.

The 61-year-old died last Thursday, and late Tuesday, Dolly commented for the first time on Twitter, posting a statement from her family.

“[Monday], we laid our sweet baby brother to rest,” it reads. “We all sang his lovely song, ‘Rockin’ Years,’ together as a family at the service to say goodbye to him. He lived a short life full of love and beautiful songs.”

Floyd wrote “Rockin’ Years,” Dolly’s 1991 duet with Ricky Shelton, which also happens to be her most recent #1 single.

Donations in Floyd’s honor can be made to the My People Senior Activity Center in the Partons’ hometown of Sevierville, Tennessee. Dolly dedicated the re-named facility earlier this year.
