Dolly Parton revealed she’s been treated for kidney stones, in a statement Wednesday refuting the National Enquirer’s claims she’s suffering from stomach cancer.
“It is true that I had kidney stones,” the superstar from East Tennessee said through her publicist. “I had them removed three weeks ago and I am doing just fine! There is absolutely no truth at all that I have stomach cancer,” she added. “I love and appreciate everyone’s concern.”
She went on to say she immediately got back to work, shooting scenes for her upcoming TV movie at Dollywood, and promoting her new DreamMore Resort on the property.
About a month ago, Don Henley also raised concerns about Dolly’s health, telling an audience at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum she got out of her hospital bed to come shoot the music video for their new duet, “When I Stop Dreaming.”
Dolly’s Coat of Many Colors movie, based on one of her signature songs, premieres December 10 on NBC.
