Courtesy CMAIf you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit, the Country Music Association is prepared to give you a big boost on Monday, December 10, when the annual CMA Country Christmas special premieres on ABC.

Dustin Lynch, who returns to perform this year, says when it comes to getting into a yuletide mood, only one thing will do the trick.

“I have to have pumpkin in my life before I can get in the Christmas spirit,” he explains. “There’s something about the setup of pumpkin and pumpkin smells.”

“I had the candles going last night in the house trying to like get me there today,” he said before taking the stage.

Since Dustin’s made no secret of his enormous affection for Reba McEntire, it was a no-brainer for him to return this year.

“Reba’s hosting,” he explains. “They didn’t have to twist my arm too hard, so it’s gonna be a fun night.”

“And I’m having a lot of fun onstage up there with everybody,” Dustin adds. “I’m having a lot of fun onstage with the band and the backup singers during my song. And I’m doing ‘Christmas, Baby Please Come Home,’ which is like an uptempo kind of fun Christmas song, which is kinda my thing. Yeah! So, it’s gonna be a fun night.”
