CurbDylan Scott‘s wife Blair may very well be one of the crucial ingredients to his success. She not only inspired his first #1, “My Girl,” she also helped pick his latest top-five hit, “Hooked.”

The Louisiana native immediately liked the tune co-written by Morgan Evans, but his wife helped seal the deal.

“When I heard it the first time, it just resonated with me so hard,” Dylan explains. “Like I could just really hear this song on the radio.”

“We recorded it,” he continues, “and when we got done with it, it just felt so good that I just… you know, I let the label guys hear it, let my buddies hear it, let my wife hear it. My wife heard the demo and immediately fell in love with it.”

Dylan cautions you shouldn’t get the idea that Blair instantly loves everything he does.

“She’s first to tell you, man. Like if I write something and bring it home, she’ll go, ‘I do not like that’ or ‘I hate that’ or ‘That’s horrible.’ Like, she’ll tell you straight up. Like man, ‘You’re tough!'” he smiles.

“But she loves it, man. So I just thought, ‘You know what? A lot of people are jammin’ this song. Maybe it could be a next single, an uptempo.'”

Both Dylan and Blair’s instincts have proved to be right, as “Hooked” nears the top of the chart.
