An elementary school student in Wamego was injured Thursday morning after being involved in a vehicle-pedestrian accident.
According to the Wamego Police Department, Pottawatomie County dispatchers received a report of the accident at approximately 7:15 a.m.
Officers from the Wamego Police Department and Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with emergency medical personnel. The pedestrian was transported from the scene.
In a message shared with parents, USD 320 officials confirmed the pedestrian was an elementary student who was receiving medical care.
The district said the student’s parents had been notified and no other students were involved in the incident.
School officials asked the community to respect the privacy of the student and their family.
The Wamego Police Department is investigating the incident. No additional information has been released.
