Manhattan Firefighters are on the scene of the Dusty Bookshelf in the 700 block of Aggieville where a fire was reported by a passer-by at about 3:45 a.m. Deputy Fire chief Ryan Almes told KMAN just a few minutes ago firefighters first attempted to battle the blaze at the Dusty Bookshelf in the interior of the building but had to move to a defensive exterior position after about an hour. 30 firefighters and four engines, as well as the ladder truck, responded. Currently there seems to be only smoke damage to adjoining structures including Varsity Donuts.
Interview with Ryan Almes follows:
Motorists are urged to avoid the area of North Manhattan and Anderson Avenue until further notice. KMAN has been and will be on the scene and will provide more details as they become available.
