The Flint Hills Breadbasket recently announced their intention to move away from their longtime location at 905 Yuma Street to 2326 Sky-Vue and 620 Rosencutter in Manhattan.
Flint Hills Breadbasket executive director Karla Hagemeister explained the reasoning for the move.

She says that the building is being “handed down” from a company that has long been a staple in the Little Apple.

The new space triples the current size of the Yuma Street facility.

In terms of fundraising, the Breadbasket is looking to raise close to $3 million to assist in the renovation of the new space that was once held by Furniture Warehouse. Hagemeister says that they’re looking to partner with other organizations as well.

While a timeline is still unknown on when a full move will be made, the Breadbasket is accepting donations to help them in the renovation and moving process. The organization is looking to raise $2.74 million, with around $500,000 in that in support from the community. To donate to the cause, you can visit www.flinthillsbreadbasket.com/buildfhbb.
