A Fort Riley unit is preparing for deployment to Europe, according to an announcement this week from the U.S. Army.

The 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, will replace the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, as part of a regular rotation of forces to support the United States’ commitment to NATO allies and partners, according to a statement from Army officials.

Officials said they couldn’t give further details on where the 1st ABCT, part of the “Devil Brigade,” would go. The unit was in Europe in 2022 when President Joe Biden extended its deployment following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
