Valory Music Co. With two little girls, a wife, and a packed touring schedule, the autobiographical “Life Changes” is a whole lot more than Thomas Rhett’s latest single — it’s just one of the signs of how fast things are moving for him these days.

“We’re on our fourth single, which is crazy, because the record, it’s not even a year old,” TR says of the album, also called Life Changes. “I remember, on my second record, man, we didn’t make a new record for like two years or something like that.”

But now that Thomas Rhett has reached headliner status, things seems to be speeding up.

“I just think it’s the way that a lot of fans are consuming music today,” he explains. “When my album came out, that was the first time that we’d ever gone out on the road after an album and got to play album cuts that people knew all the words to.”

“Songs like ‘Sixteen’ and ‘Renegade’ have sort of acted like singles to me on the road, even though they haven’t been singles,” he explains.  TR says the same was true of “Life Changes” as well, which is currently in the top 20.

Luckily, Thomas never stopped looking ahead to his next project.

“I’ve been doing nothing but writing my face off since the last album came out,” he admits. “And so we are, right now, just trying to lock down a time to figure out what songs we’re gonna record and when we’re gonna record ’em. But it is my goal to just keep putting more music out there.”

This summer, Thomas Rhett’s working his own headlining dates, in between opening for Kenny Chesney on the Trip Around the Sun Tour.
