ABC RadioWith a hook that proclaims “I can do this night life all day long,” it’s no surprise Garth Brooks‘ latest single was inspired by one of the bars on Nashville’s Lower Broadway.

“‘All Day Long’ was pretty much born from getting to play Layla’s,” the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year says. “Just realizing how much I miss honky tonks, how much that music pretty much IS me.”

“I cannot wait to hear it live, people getting to sing that right back to you,” he goes on. “That’s why I love it. This is gonna be good!”

“All Day Long” has a built-in honky tonk pedigree, considering Garth wrote it with two of the architects of some of his biggest hits.

“The great thing about writing songs is the buddies you get to write ’em with,” he explains. “‘All Day Long’ was written with Mitch Rossell, who wrote ‘Ask Me How I Know,’ Bryan Kennedy, who wrote ‘The Beaches [of Cheyenne],’ [and] ‘American Honky Tonk Bar Association.'”

“Good cats — fun!” he adds.

“All Day Long” is the lead single from Garth’s new studio album, which is expected sometime next year. If you pre-order it now from Amazon for $10, you’ll also get the new track, “The Road I’m On,” a song Garth has already chosen as his show opener the next time he tours.
