The 78-year-old Campbell, who’s suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, has been nominated in the Best Original Song category for “I’m Not Gonna Miss You,” which he co-wrote with Julian Raymond for the documentary Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me.

While the Best Original Song nominees category at the Golden Globe Awards was filled with pop and rock acts, the Oscars category is very different.  There’s only only one song that was nominated for both the Oscars and Golden Globes: “Glory,” co-written by singer/songwriter John Legend and rapper Common for the movie Selma.  It won the Golden Globe last weekend.

The rest of the Best Original Song nominees include “Everything Is Awesome,” from The Lego Movie; “Grateful,” from Beyond the Lights; and “Lost Stars,” from Begin Again, otherwise known as “the movie that stars Adam Levine from The Voice.

The Academy Awards will air on ABC February 22.
