
The Greater Manhattan Community Foundation announced on Wednesday the hiring of Shane Shivley as its new Vice President for Development. Shivley will begin his role in mid-March.
Shivley brings more than two decades of leadership experience in philanthropy, higher education advancement, and strategic development. Most recently, he served as senior director of university development in the president’s office at Emporia State University. Prior to that, he served as president and CEO of the Emporia State University Foundation, where he led comprehensive fundraising efforts and guided transformational philanthropic growth.
During his tenure at Emporia State, Shivley played a key role in closing major capital campaigns, securing historic gifts, and significantly increasing endowment and asset growth. His leadership advanced scholarship funding, strengthened institutional infrastructure, and positioned the university for long-term sustainability.
