A Manhattan man convicted of rape in October received his sentencing Tuesday in Riley County District Court.
Gavin Gregory Haberman, 21, will serve 12 years and 11 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections, as ordered by Judge Kendra Lewison. A jury on Oct. 31 found Haberman guilty of one count of rape against a woman he knows and not guilty of aggravated sexual battery against another woman.
Haberman maintained his innocence, and defense attorney Cole Hawver said his client’s case is pending in the court of appeals.
