A suspicious package led to the closure of I-70 Thursday afternoon. The closure of east and westbound lanes from K-99 to K-177 was announced shortly before four p.m. Thursday.

Kimberly Qualls, Northeast Kansas Public Affairs Manager with the Kansas Department of Transportation, announced as of 4:35PM, eastbound and westbound I-70 from K-99 to K-177 was reopened to unrestricted traffic. The suspicious package had been cleared and the highway was fully reopened to all traffic.
