Big Loud RecordsYou can’t go wrong these days by putting Florida Georgia Line on a song, it seems. Newcomer Morgan Wallen stumbled on that bit of knowledge accidentally, but there’s no denying he’s glad he did.

“I’d just planned on doing a solo record with it,” Morgan says of his first hit, “Up Down.” “And I’d put my vocals on the whole song and everything, and we kinda just started showing it around.”

“And I’m good friends with FGL,” he explains, “and kinda just played [it] for [’em] in the studio. And I was like, ‘You guys want to hop on it?’ I was kinda joking. And they jumped on it. So I was like, ‘Yeah, let’s do this thing, man!’

The result is Morgan’s first top 20 hit, featuring Florida Georgia Line. Morgan also wrote Jason Aldean‘s current top five hit, “You Make It Easy,” along with Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley. Of course, FGL also has a smash at both pop and country radio with Bebe Rexha on “Meant to Be.”

This summer, Morgan heads out on tour with Luke Bryan, who’s said he’s crazy about “Up Down.”
