If you notice that Jason Aldean seems to be a little amped up these days, he’s the first to admit you’re right. He confesses he’s still on the proverbial cloud nine, after being named Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards back in April.
“It’s been good!” he laughs. “I mean, I carry that as a badge of honor for sure, and if anything, it was a little bit of a shot in the arm for me just to kick it into another gear. So, I love it. I don’t know if I’ll ever have another year like this where I can say I’m the dude. Until next year’s ACMs, I’m the dude and I’ll wear it proudly.”
Jason’s next chance to strut his stuff comes July 14, when the his Six String Circus tour checks into Bethel, New York, with Thomas Rhett. Meanwhile, his latest hit “Lights Come On” is waiting patiently for its turn at number one, as Keith Urban holds on for a second week with “Wasted Time.”
