Jerrod Niemann has already released several songs about drinking, including “One More Drinkin’ Song,” so he wasn’t exactly thrilled when he saw the title of a new song, “Drink to That All Night,” in an e-mail from his songwriter pal Lance Miller a few months back.
Jerrod says, “I was like, ‘Man, come on. Just because it’s a drinking song doesn’t mean you have to send it to me.’ Surely, how different can it be? And then I listened to it. I thought, ‘Woah, this is something else.'”
Jerrod then sent the feel-good song to his producer, and they recorded it for his new album, High Noon. A big part of the song’s success can be credited to the driving drum beat throughout the track.
“This is a song that definitely gets you in the mood for the weekend,” Jerrod explains. “It just gives this driving feel, and when it’s five o’clock on Friday and you’re ready to crank it up, that’s what you need is something to knock you out of your chair.”
