Josh Turner‘s first book, Man Stuff: Thoughts on Faith, Family and Fatherhood, is now in stores featuring 90 stories based on the singer’s life experiences. The idea for the book started with Josh’s profile in People magazine as the hottest dad in country music. That article led Nashville-based publisher Thomas Nelson to approach Josh about expanding what he said in that article into an entire book. Josh jumped at the chance to dig deeper into his life story.
He says, “I felt like this was a way for me to just really open up and talk about the experiences and the stories from my life that I learned from or that I gained experience from in certain areas.”
Josh wrote every story based on experiences from his life as a son, husband, father and friend.
“I didn’t really reference any other book,” Josh says of his writing process. “I didn’t reference any other project or piece of work from anybody. I just really wanted this to be about me and about what I’ve learned and how I can influence someone else with these stories.”
The stories work on their own as well, so readers can enjoy reading Man Stuff in small bites or devour it one sitting.
Says Josh, “I wanted to keep them short and sweet and simple. I didn’t want to bog people down with heavy, too much heavy stuff. I wanted it to be simple life lessons. So, that’s basically what this book is a collection of.”
Look for Josh to promote Man Stuff with an appearance on ABC’s The Chew on Wednesday. He’ll be featured on FOX News’s FOX & Friends and Great American Country’s Headline Country on Thursday, too.
