Junction City Police are investigating a stabbing reported late Sunday night. At approximately 11:43 p.m., members of the Junction City Police Department and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the Budget Host Motel at 820 South Washington Street in reference to a disturbance where a subject had been stabbed.
Upon arrival contact was made with the victim, identified as Karlie Jones, 19, of Wichita, who reportedly received a single stab wound to the chest. After being treated by the EMT’s, Jones was transported to the Geary Community Hospital for further treatment.
During the investigation, a suspect was identified as Luis Caicedo-Mosquera, 22, of Grandview Plaza.
According to the JCPD news release issued by Lt. Jeff Childs, it was learned during the investigation the victim and suspect had been communicating via the internet in reference to adult escort activities. The suspect was located and arrested on the charge of attempted murder. Caicedo-Mosquera was detained at the Geary County Detention Center on a no bond status pending first appearance in the Geary County District Court.
