The Kansas Department of Transportation will undergo a leadership change.

Governor, Sam Brownback announced Wednesday that KDOT Secretary, Mike King will step down from his post on July 15th.

According to a statement from the Governor’s office, former State Representative, Richard Carlson of St. Mary’s will step in as interim Secretary while a search for a permanent is conducted.

Carlson was a Pottawatomie County Commissioner for 12 years, prior to being elected as a State Representative in 2004.
