Even though he’s taken the year off the road, Kenny Chesney is still being recognized for his achievements in the touring industry. Just this week, Billboard named Kenny the only country artist in the top 10 touring acts from 1990 to 2014, with nearly 13 million tickets sold. That puts Kenny at #9 on the list, behind the likes of the Rolling Stones, U2, and Bruce Springsteen.
Kenny has been using his time off the road to work on a new album, and fans can expect to hear those songs on the road next year. He says, “These songs are gonna rock live; but more importantly, they say a whole lot about how the fans live. I can’t wait to play ’em onstage.”
Though his record label can’t confirm anything just yet, Kenny tweeted the date 9/30/2014 earlier this week. That may indicate we can expect to hear something from him on that date. Regardless, Kenny expects to release his new album by the end of the year.
