Blue Chair/SonyIf you’ve got a case of the summertime blues, you might want to turn up Kenny Chesney‘s new single, “Save It for a Rainy Day.” The song is all about getting out on the water with friends and enjoying a cold beer in order to get over a heartache. Kenny thinks the song’s message speaks to anything that’s getting you down at the moment, though.

“I have been the person in this song, a lot,” Kenny says. “I think that if you sit in negativity too long or whatever’s bothering you, or whatever’s kind of weighing down your life, whether it’s all the anxiety and stress. I think if you sit in all that too long, you can become it. It can become your life, and that’s not good, you know?”

There’s nothing like hanging with good friends and soaking up the sun to lift your spirits and make you forget your troubles for a while.

Kenny adds, “[I’m] not saying all that is gonna get rid of your pain, but it will help you push the pain away for at least a day.”

“Save It for a Rainy Day” is the fourth single from Kenny’s latest album, The Big Revival.
